Christi’s Wedding Invitations

Christi's Wedding Invitations

They’re done! I have to say that my sister-in-law Christi is a great bride to work with – very easy to please! She chose pretty much everything, including the double heart image as a theme. A double heart stamp was hard to find, and I ended up having to special order this Inkadinkado set of three stamps from my favorite rubber stamp store, Stamp On It – Thanks Deb!

The invitations are a single-card style, with the text printed on white cardstock using ALS Script and Adine Kirnberg Script downloaded from 1001 Free Fonts. The text cards were then layered on Pear and Juneberry textured cardstock by Bazzill Basics. The edges of the Juneberry cardstock are distressed, for which I used my Dremel tool. It’s a nice handy-man’s type multi-purpose tool, and it makes very quick work of distressing paper with it’s sanding bits. (But be warned: the dust will fly!)

The double heart image is heat embossed at the top using PearLustre Hessonite opaque embossing powder by Stampendous, and is stamped at the bottom in Brilliance Platinum Planet ink by Tsukineko. In the picture you can’t see the image stamped at the bottom, but it is there. The Brilliance Platinum Planet ink creates a faint shimmery shadow of an image when stamped on white paper. It’s a very nice effect.

I also made reception cards and RSVP cards. Christi's wedding reception cards Christi's wedding RSVP cards
The reception cards have the double heart image stamped on them in Ancient Page Plum Wine ink by Clearsnap, and they also have distressed edges.

All in all, I think this makes for a very nice set of wedding stationery – simple, yet elegant. Thanks to Christi and Artur, and everyone who helped me make them!
